Sri Lanka yet to decide on hosting Asia Cup 2022

Sri Lanka, with the hosting rights of Asia Cup 2022 have  been given time till July 27 to confirm whether they would be able to the host the tournament amid the widespread protests across the country.

The Asia cup has been scheduled to be played from August 27 in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka is currently grappling a severe economic crisis and rising inflation that have led to the eruption of protests against the government.

Sri Lanka were chosen to host the 2020 edition of the Asia Cup which was postponed twice due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

This year’s tournament will be held in the T20 format with the T20 World Cup being held in Australia later this year.
