Sri Lankan Consumers Shifts to dining from home at a Uber Speed in 2020 – CAL Research

In line with the global shift in course towards dining from home, the Sri Lankan private consumption expenditure on dining out in restaurants and hotels experienced a steep decline whilst preference was given to the dining and preparing meals within the confinements of a home in 2020, according to CAL Research, an independent research unit of Colombo-based Capital Alliance Limited.

In 2020, Sri Lankan spent 34.2% less on Resutrants and Hotels compared to the previous year.

At the Same time, Sri Lankan spent 11.5% more on food and beverages compared to 2019.
