USAID Supports Sri Lanka’s Efforts in safely Transporting Pathological Waste

Thanks to the Ampara Regional Health Directorate and the American people, Ampara now has a vehicle to safely transport pathological waste.  Dr. Prasanga Serasinghe, the Regional Director of Health Services in Ampara, requested support to modify an existing truck to properly manage pathological waste disposal.

In response, the United States funded modifications to the truck to help reduce risks to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Deputy Director Debra Mosel handed over the upgraded truck at an online ceremony on February 12, 2021.
