Marking another special day in the history of the Colombo Stock Exchange, today (16) the All Share Price Index crossed the 14,500-point mark for the first time in history.
The All Share Price Index rose by a massive 295.10 points today and closed at 14,500.44 points, a 2.08% increase over the previous day.
Meanwhile, the S&P SL20 Index recorded a remarkable increase of 111.97 points or 2.64% today and closed at 4,356.42 points.
Meanwhile, a massive turnover of Rs. 8.27 billion was also recorded today.
Shares worth Rs. 1.19 billion of Ceylinco Holdings PLC were traded today, which contributed significantly to the daily turnover. In addition, John Keells Holdings with Rs. 532 million, Sampath Bank with Rs. 442 million, Hatton National Bank with Rs. 395 million and Pan Asia Bank with Rs. 352 million are among the companies that have been able to make a high contribution to the turnover today.
