The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) has arranged a forum for discussion of 110 concerns that have been presented by Sri Lankan exporters.
“Of these, 31 were submitted through trade chambers and industry associations like the Exporters’ Association of Sri Lanka (EASL) and the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, while 79 issues were presented directly by companies,” the EDB stated in a statement.
According to the trade group, some of these problems are presently being resolved by sending them to the appropriate organizations via the Export Facilitation Task Force.
“During the Forum, 37 issues (grouped under 17 major topics) were given priority for discussion.”
A wide range of export industry players attended the 25th Exporters’ Forum, which gave exporters a forum to express their worries and look for workable answers to problems they confront.
“The occasion gave exporters the chance to speak with legislators face-to-face, discuss their difficulties, and offer ideas for improving export-related procedures.”
“Reaffirmed the government’s commitment to facilitating trade and addressing the challenges faced by exporters,” said Sunil Handunnetti, Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development.
In order to improve Sri Lanka’s export competitiveness and achieve sustainable growth in the international market, he also underlined the significance of cooperation between the public and private sectors.
