Sri Lanka, Belarus move to new trade and tourism partnerships

Sri Lanka and Belarus have moved to further strengthen economic relations during a Business Round Table organised by the Belarus National Export Promotion Centre.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Vijitha Herath, who led the Sri Lankan delegation, said the discussions centered on expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, and tourism.

The talks were attended by Belarus Deputy Minister of Industry Leonid Ryzhkovchits and Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Aleksandr Yakovchits, along with a high-level business delegation. The group included representatives from the National Tourism Agency, Belavia, and several leading travel agencies.

Sri Lankan entrepreneurs and professionals from the pharmaceutical, education, and tourism sectors also took part in the discussions, exploring new export avenues, partnerships, and potential joint ventures between the two countries.
