CINEC Campus ‘Open Week’ offers higher education opportunities

The CINEC Campus, Malabe has announced ‘CINEC Campus Open Week’ as an awareness programme regarding higher  education opportunities available to students after their Advanced Level (A/L) results.

This programme is scheduled to take place from April 4-11, from 9 AM to 4 PM at the CINEC Campus premises Malabe.

The event is chaired by Senior Prof. Sampath Amaratunge, Deputy Chairman and Deputy CEO of CINEC, former Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Sri Lanka and former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Deans and Heads of Departments representing the campus’s eight faculties and three departments also participated in the occasion.

Senior Prof. Sampath Amaratunge stated that obtaining even three Simple (S) passes in the Sri Lankan Advanced Level examination is a very difficult and valuable achievement. He expressed that CINEC is prepared to provide specialised degree opportunities for students with such results, as well as guidance and degree pathways for students who were unable to achieve those results.

Over 250 courses (Including Certificates, Diplomas, Higher Diplomas, Degrees, and Postgraduate degrees) are offered across eight faculties and three departments.

With a 36-year history, CINEC has produced a large number of graduates, and the Prof. noted that the institution works to ensure all its graduates are work ready. This Open Week programme will provide a clear understanding of higher education opportunities after the A/Ls, and CINEC will remain open for parents and students from April 4-11.
