March 2025 saw a 9.1% increase in Sri Lankan tourist arrivals, driven by Russia and India.

India and Russia were the main source markets for Sri Lanka’s visitor arrivals, which increased 9.1% from the previous year to 229,298 in March 2025, according to figures from the state tourism development agency.

39,212 visitors from India made up 17.1% of Sri Lanka’s total visitor count, followed by 29,177 from Russia (12.7%) and 22,447 from the UK (9.8%).

Germany accounted for 17,918 visitors (7.8%), followed by France (15,278; 6.7%), and China (11,114; 4.8%).

The number of visitors from January 1 to March 31, 2025, was 722,276.
