The newly appointed board members—Virann De Zoysa, Dr. Chamara Bandara, Chamira Pramodha Wijetilleke, Dr. Samantha Rathnayake, and Prof. Prasad M. Jayaweera—bring a wealth of expertise spanning finance, business consultancy, banking, human resource development, and technology. Virann De Zoysa, a finance and automotive industry expert, has been a Director at Associated Motorways Ltd since 2004. A graduate in Finance and Accounting from Clarion University, USA, with an MBA from Edith Cowan University, Australia, he also serves as Chairman of the Ceylon Motor Traders’ Association, Director of Arika Villas, and a committee member of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, he holds key roles in the Plastics and Rubber Institute of Sri Lanka and the Sri Lanka Association of Manufacturers and Exporters of Rubber Products.
Dr. Chamara Bandara, a Chartered Accountant in Sri Lanka, England, and Wales, is a business consultant with over 20 years of experience. Holding a PhD in Business Management from Management and Science University, Malaysia, and an MBA from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia, he is the founder of SCB Corporate, Corporate Doctors (Pvt) Ltd, and Berry Technologies (Pvt) Ltd. He currently serves as Vice President of AAT Sri Lanka, an Independent Director at Kapruka Holdings PLC, and has played a key role in leadership development as Founding President of the Young Chartered Accountants Forum of Sri Lanka.
Chamira Pramodha Wijetilleke, a veteran in banking and finance, has over 30 years of experience with ANZ Grindlays Bank, Standard Chartered, and HSBC Sri Lanka, where he led the corporate banking division. A graduate in Finance from the University of Houston, USA, with an MBA from Western Sydney University, Australia, he has also worked in financial technology as a consultant for N-able (Pvt) Ltd, and is currently the CEO of Somerville Stock Brokers (Pvt) Ltd.
Dr. Samantha Rathnayake, an expert in human resource development and corporate learning, holds a PhD from the Infrastructure University of Kuala Lumpur and an MBA from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. A Certified Professional Marketer (Asia) and a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Managers of Sri Lanka, he has over 25 years of experience, including roles at the UN’s FAO, ICICI Bank India, and Sri Lanka Foundation. As a senior faculty member at the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), he has contributed significantly to leadership development.
Prof. Prasad M. Jayaweera, a Commonwealth Academic Fellow, is the first Chair Professor of Computer Science and Informatics at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Holding a PhD from Stockholm University, Sweden, he has pioneered computing education in Sri Lanka, founding the university’s Faculty of Computing. His research collaborations span institutions in the UK, Sweden, and Belgium, with contributions to national and international journals. He has also led industry-collaborated research projects and served as a member of the National Foundation for Open-Source Health Software at the Ministry of Health.
