This initiative aims to showcase the island’s stunning landscapes and rich cultural heritage, allowing these VIP agents to gain firsthand insights into what makes Sri Lanka a premier travel destination.

This tour comes at a crucial moment for Sri Lanka, as the country has seen significant improvements in its socioeconomic conditions and has resolved recent tourist visa issues, creating a more welcoming environment for visitors.

During their eight-day journey, the agents will visit several iconic sites, including:

  • Ancient Ruins: Anuradhapura, Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, and Dambulla
  • Cultural Hub: Kandy
  • Highlands: The picturesque Nuwara Eliya
  • Capital City: Colombo, where they will immerse themselves in local culture and cuisine

Connaissance De Ceylan is facilitating the tour as the official ground handling agent, while Thema Collection provides luxury accommodations. Turkish Airlines is the designated airline partner, ensuring smooth travel arrangements for the delegates.

Spain ranks as the seventh largest source market for Sri Lankan tourism. Spanish tourists are particularly valuable as they tend to visit from May to October, making their presence beneficial for local hoteliers and tourism providers. The participation of these influential agents is expected to enhance ties between Spain and Sri Lanka and bolster future tourism prospects.

Organized by Spain’s largest operator to Sri Lanka, this fact-finding mission underscores the increasing interest in Sri Lanka as a top travel destination. According to Connaissance De Ceylan, “With recent developments such as the easing of visa issues and other tourism-related improvements, trips like this are vital in showcasing the island’s allure, from its ancient heritage to its pristine landscapes.” This initiative aims to elevate Sri Lanka’s profile among Spanish travelers, equipping agents with valuable insights that will encourage future visits.
