According to figures from the tourism promotion agency, Sri Lanka saw a 23.2 percent increase in visitor arrivals to 191,982 during the first 26 days of March 2025 compared to the same period last year.
According to figures from the Sri Lanka Tourist Board, arrivals so far this year have increased 17.6% to 684,960.
India accounted for 32,879 (17.1 percent) of all tourists, followed by the UK (17,453; 9.1 percent) and the Russian Federation (25,869; 13.5 percent).
At 15,864 (8.3 percent), Germany was fourth, followed by France (13,651; 7.0 percent) and China (8,869; 4.6 percent).
India was the top tourist destination up until March 26 with 111,982, followed by the UK (64,711) and the Russian Federation (90,2550).
