First Capital, Vallibel Power, and Laxapana Batteries emerges as the strongest dividend-paying Sri Lankan stocks

First Capital Holdings has emerged as the strongest dividend yield stock among listed entities on Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) for the one-year period ending on the 30th of June this year.

First Capital maintained a 12.2 percent dividend yield in the period followed by 11.5 percent and 10.6 percent dividend yields of mini-hydropower firm, Vallibel Power Erathna PLC, and Laxapana Batteries PLC.

Seylan Development Plc, Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), HNB Assurance, Commercial Bank, Colombo City Holdings, and Ceylon Tobacco (CTC) were among the top ten stocks with the highest dividend yields in the period.

Despite record earnings in the period, most companies had a zero dividend yield.
