More than 4000 teachers to be joining the In-Service Advisors Service

The cabinet approval has been granted to proceed forth with regards to the In-Service Advisors Service which has been a concern unresolved for nearly 62 years, the Ministry of Education revealed.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Education said that once the gazette notification has been published, applications are scheduled to be called.

Accordingly, approximately 4971 teachers are said to join the service of in-service advisor service.

These revelations were made before the Sectoral Oversight Committee (SOC) on Education and Human Resources Development meeting held at Parliament on the 28th of February 2020 chaired by MP Prof. Ashu Marasinghe.

The Committee was informed that the matters concerning the Sri Lanka Principals’ Service and the Sri Lanka Education Administrative Service have been submitted for cabinet approval whilst the discussion regarding Non- Formal Education have reached the final stages of closure.
