Sri Lanka’s telephone Penetration (including Cellular Phones) declined by 19.3 percent in the third quarter of last year compared to one year ago.
Sri Lanka’s telephone Penetration stood at 164.1 per every 100 persons as of the third quarter of 2019, however, it fell to 132.5 per every 100 persons in the third quarter of last year.
The Central Bank data showed the number of Cellular Phones in the country declining to 26.8 million in the third quarter of last year from 33.5 million recorded in the third quarter of 2019.
However, the Internet Subscriber base rose to 16.6 million in the third quarter of 2020 from 12.6 million, a year ago.
