The cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal to waive landing and parking fees for International airlines in order to attract airlines to Rajapaksha International Airport in Mattala, and Colombo International Airport in Ratmalana from the 26th of this month when Sri Lanka opens up its skies.

The Cabinet Office assured that the government has taken measures to open the airports from 26th of this month to 19th January of 2021 as per the health recommendations, as a pilot project in the plans to open the airports on the island for foreign tourists.

Accordingly, international airlines will be operating according to specific schedules prepared by the Ministry of Tourism and the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

The exemption of the landing and parking fees is scheduled to last up until 19th November of next year.
